Feathers and Sweater

Shop My Look:
Skirt: similar | Top: Target (sold out, similar here) | Boots: Goodnight Macaroon

This outfit is so simple, yet such a statement. That's what I love about this skirt. No matter what you pair it with, it's bound to make a statement. When I wore it here, I paired it with dramatic earrings and equally dramatic heels, for an outfit that would be perfect for an event like New Year's Eve. This time, I paired it with a simple sweater and boots in similar, neutral tones, to tone down the drama a bit... Just in case you questioned how versatile a feather skirt could be in your wardrobe! haha

Are you having a great week so far? We've been on the mend for several days now, and I'm so so glad to be feeling better! And, I'm currently planning both Valentines and fresh Spring looks for the blog! It has me feeling so light and happy! You guys are going to love these! I cannot wait to share them with you. I hope you have a lovely day! Thanks so much for reading!

P.S. Happy, Happy Birthday to my best friend, Candace! Love you, and hope your day is sweet!

Pink Beret

Shop My Look:
Beret: Here | Top: Forever21 (sold out, similar here) | Skirt: similar | Boots: Goodnight Macaroon | Bag: Kate Spade

Guys, I don't even know what to say about this outfit, except, it's my very, very favorite right now! Here is everything I wish I could be wearing on a daily basis. This beret is super affordable, and very good quality! I highly recommend. I was kind of shocked at the quality when it arrived, because of the price. It's good, and you'll love it!

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope your week gets off to a great start! We've been sick this weekend, so I'm excited to start feeling better, and get back into a normal routine. (Somewhat normal, as I'm afraid to touch anything out in the world right now, for fear of catching something else!) But here's to getting the house cleaned up and the kids outside in the sunshine at some point this week!
Thanks for stopping by!

Statement Sleeves

Shop My Look:

Top: SheIn | Jeans: Denizen | Heels: Aldo (similar) | Bag: similar

I've mentioned before that I don't usually gravitate toward black... in my wardrobe, or decor, really. But, these sleeves were so beautiful, that I had to suspend my color preferences for this top. Plus, it really is so dramatic in black, anyway. I'm absolutely in love with it! I feel like the sleeves are even more over-the-top in person, but really, you get a pretty good feel for the size of them in these pictures. Like half my body's size!? Yeah. Pretty much. haha

I hope you've had a wonderful week! It's been pretty warm here, and that's made me so excited for Spring! I've purchased a few new wardrobe pieces for Spring (okay, maybe more than a few!) recently, and I am so excited to share them!! Spring used to be my least-anticipated Season, but after having two babies in February, Spring became a Season to look forward to. Regaining my body and my confidence, losing the baby weight, feeling more recovered, and getting outside in the sunshine after being cooped up inside from a mix of the frigid cold and newborn fog. Spring is now one of my favorite Seasons. It's colorful, warm, and pretty. I think of lovely pastels and lace, kids finding Easter eggs, warm sunshine and pretty flowers blooming everywhere. A fresh start after the snow melts and the earth thaws. Yes! I know it's a tad early, but I'm ready.
Thanks so much for reading!

Workout Wear

Shop My Look:

Leggings: X by Gottex (similar here, and here) | Top: similar | Sneakers: Nike | Beanie: Kate Spade

More Fun Sneakers: Loving these Nike ones! Also, these beautiful New Balance sneakers are on sale!

More Fun Leggings: These marble leggings are so pretty! And, these Anthropologie leggings are so fun!

Here is my obligatory January workout post! haha Just kidding. Actually, fun fact about me: On top of my gigs as a Blogger and a Mom, I'm also a Personal Trainer. I don't have as many clients, now that I have kids, but I love Personal Training and have a real passion for treating my body well, through exercise and nutrition. Living clean has been an overarching goal of mine throughout most of my life.

Personal Training is actually what led me to start a Fashion Blog. I worked at a gym for several years, where we were required to wear all black uniforms, as trainers. It was the same black leggings and black shirt, day-in and day-out, for years. I didn't have much of an opportunity to express my style through fashion, and it was more of a burden on me than I expected. So, on Saturdays or Sundays, when I would get dressed in my real clothes, I started documenting my outfits. I found this wonderful, beautiful side of the internet, of fashion bloggers, and I was hooked!

I'm not sure how this post on workout wear turned into a post about how I started fashion blogging... That wasn't my original intention! But, none the less, I'm so so glad I discovered my passion for blogging. It's brought me a lot of joy, especially now, during a time in my life where most of my day is consumed with being a Mom, and not exactly looking glamorous. The chance to dress up, look and feel my best, and hit the publish button for you guys is seriously such a bright spot in my week!
Thanks so much for reading! You make my day with your sweet comments!

Gifting a Unique Watch this Valentine's

Shop Our Looks:

On Me:
Top: Target | Earrings: New York and Co.

On Ross:
Henley: Target (old), similar here | Watch: Jord

There are a few reasons why Valentine's Day feels like a special occasion in our house. Obviously, we like to celebrate our relationship and our love! But, Valentines also falls right in between both our children's birthdays (their birthdays are the 11th and the 17th of February). There have been Valentine's Days over the past few years that we've really not had the opportunity to celebrate (what with being in the hospital, delivering babies, and all). So, this Valentines Day, especially, is a very special Valentines to us. We're excited to get the chance to spend time together, celebrating each other!

Something about starting a family together makes this man even more appealing to me. I loved him through college, through starting our first jobs, through buying our first home together. But, having your children with someone brings a whole new depth to the relationship. We're closer now, in ways we never ever knew were coming. That's why it's important that the gifts I give him say just how special he is to me, and will be, for a lifetime. This Valentine's Day, I was looking for something with a little more meaning than a card and some chocolates.

This Jord Watch he's wearing is the most perfect Valentine's Day gift! I can't tell you how many times Ross has looked at his wrist and exclaimed, "I love my new watch!". As someone who's not easy to buy for, trust me, you're going to be thrilled with a purchase like this. And, it doesn't hurt, on my end, that he has a nice, new accessory that he loves to wear, with pretty much every one of his outfits. We both highly recommend Jord watches. They're not only beautiful, quality pieces, but unique watches, and functional, as well.

I hope you're having a wonderful day! If you're looking for a Valentine's Day gift in the next few weeks, I hope you check out Jord Watches (for both Men's and Women's watches, they're all so beautiful!). As always, thanks so much for stopping by!

Valentines Date Night Inspiration

Shop the Post:

I'm starting to think about Valentines Day, and I've been daydreaming about a perfect little date night (complete with the perfect little date night outfit, of course!), so I thought I'd share some inspiration here! Of course, I had to center around my favorite pink color of the moment.

How cute are these bow pumps!? I think they're my favorite piece here, though it's all so lovely, it's really hard to decide. This would seriously be the most perfect romantic and feminine outfit!

I hope you're having a wonderful Friday so far!! It's almost the weekend!
Thanks so much for reading!

Snow Day

Shop Our Looks:

On me: Sweater: Target (sold out, similar here) | Jeans: Lucky Brand | Boots: Catherine Catherine Malandrino | Beanie: similar | Scarf: similar | Bag: Kate Spade | Gloves: Anthropologie

On Candace: Sweater: here | Jeans: American Eagle  | Boots: here | Scarf: similar | Beanie: similar | Gloves: Target (similar here) | Bag: Kate Spade

So, last night, I was relaxing after putting the kids to bed, and I happened to check the weather, and saw that it was going to snow! I had no idea until a few hours before it started (which is unlike me, because I usually check the weather a lot!). We rarely get snow here in South Carolina, so I was super excited. I texted my friend Candace who lives just minutes from us and we made a play date for in the morning while it was still snowing (play date/picture date. same thing! haha). You can see Candace's blog here!

We had so much fun getting dolled up and taking our pictures together! We take pictures of each other sometimes, but we rarely get to snap any together, in the same frame, so that was nice! Doubles the cute in any picture! haha I hope you enjoy your Wednesday, no matter what the weather is like where you live. I'm off to enjoy this real-life snow globe!

Black and Leopard

Shop My Look:

Sweater: Target (sold out, similar here) | Leggings: similar | Beanie: similar | Bag: Kate Spade | Coat: Calvin Klein | Boots: similar

I got this sweater on clearance for under $14! (And the one I linked is also on sale for a similar price!) This outfit is very unlike me. It's mostly black, with a sharp, pointy heel and no pink at all! haha But I was feeling wearing this black beanie with a leopard sweater, so here we are! I do love to wear outfits like this once in a while. It's not my go-to, but it's fun to feel a bit more edgy every now and then!

Now that I've properly raved about this outfit, I also want to say I hope you're having a lovely day! Ross has the day off, and we're planning to have some family time this morning, and then my parents are keeping the kids this afternoon, so that Ross and I can recharge and spend some time together. I cannot wait! I also can't wait for the next few outfit posts! Ross will be making a cameo appearance, so be on the look out for those! Thanks so much for reading!

Grey Sweater

Shop My Look:
Sweater: save, spend | Jeans: Lucky Brand | Earrings: Charming Charlie | Boots: Goodnight Macaroon | Bag: Kate Spade

Something that happens to me more than I'd like to admit; I see other bloggers wearing a particular item of clothing so much, (on instagram, pinterest, and of course, other blogs), that I start to think I also own that piece of clothing... even when, in fact, I do not. That was the case with a grey off-shoulder sweater. I saw grey off-shoulder sweaters so much on instagram this Fall and Winter, that I was on my way to my closet to put an outfit together, only to realize, I do not yet own this sweater. Well, that had to be remedied. How am I expected to live without owning such a crucial piece of clothing!? hahaha So, that's how I came to purchase this cute little top. I love it, and I definitely recommend this as a staple in your Fall and Winter wardrobe. Very cozy, chic, and easy!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!! It's FRIDAY!! Oh, and you may have noticed that my website is looking very different! I'm in the process of changing the layout, and I'm not sure I'm completely done yet, but I thought I was close enough to go live with the progress I've made. I've been working so hard on this, and I hope you love it! Thanks for reading and have a wonderful weekend!
