Raw Hem + Red Ruffles

This is my favorite formula for a "weekend outfit". Cute top + Favorite Jeans + Cute heels. (And, at the moment, you can add "cute statement earrings" to that formula, too. They're always part of it. haha.) I put "weekend outfit" into quotations because, let's be honest. I'll only be in something like this for a few hours. Most of my weekends currently revolve around caring for the kids, grocery shopping, and mowing the lawn (the downside of the beautiful weather we're already experiencing here, in South Carolina). So, heels just aren't really a practical choice most of the time. But, when we get the chance to go out or spend an evening with friends, I like the take the opportunity to use the formula. And, it never fails me!

Guys, I've been trying to broaden my horizons with dinner time, and I'm having a tough time. Stuck in a rut, some people like to call it. We keep having the same things over and over. And, the kids don't even really eat those dishes well. Do you have any *easy*/healthy dinner recipes to share? I'd love to hear your go-to's! Thanks, in advance!
Thank you so much for reading and following along! Have a wonderful day!

Elegant In Lace

I ordered this dress to wear on Easter Sunday, but it didn't match my daughter's dress as well as I'd hoped, so I thought I'd share it today, instead! I hope to share a closer look at the dress I did wear on Easter, soon, too. That one is a little less mauve and more pale pink. I have so many fun outfits to share, and they're all competing for top bidding! haha I don't know if it's just me, but I sometimes get a little bored with dresses. Don't get me wrong, I have plenty of dresses! But, dresses are kind of a "one and done" outfit for me. You can pair the dress with a different pair of earrings, or different heels, but honestly it looks very much the same each time you wear it. I'm much more drawn to skirts, and tops, where you can mix and match. But, of course, you do need some dresses in your wardrobe for some events (like Easter, or weddings, or certain parties). So, yes, I still definitely buy dresses. There's definitely an elegance that comes with dresses that you can't achieve with a skirt.

I hope you're having the best Friday! I wrote a long and thoughtful post to go with this outfit, but unfortunately it got deleted, so here we are! haha I'll try to recover it for another blog post soon. I hope you have a wonderful weekend, and thank you so much for reading!

Ribbons And Curls

I just love the sweet bows on the front of this fun and feminine dress! And, at the price point, I was sold immediately. This is one of those pieces that looks way better than the picture on the website, in my opinion. Those are the best kinds of surprises, when you have realistic expectations for something, and they're hugely surpassed. Also, can you tell I do most of my shopping online these days? Except for the occasional target run where I throw something in the cart on the way out (hello Sugarfix earrings!), I honestly do most my shopping online. Thank goodness for online shopping, when you have two headstrong and loud toddlers. haha!

Speaking of my toddlers, I got them a bubble machine the other day, and if you have kids, or maybe even if you don't, you should totally look into a bubble machine! It creates so many beautiful bubbles, and the kids have been thoroughly enjoying themselves. We're definitely going to have to purchase lots of extra bubbles and batteries for the Summer. I'm so looking forward to spending more time outside, playing with the kids, going to the pool, grilling out, and enjoying the warmth of the Summer Season. Plus, of course, wearing all my adorable Summer clothes that I can't wait to share!
Thank you so much for reading! I hope you have a lovely day!

Ruffles On Ruffles & Why Start A Fashion Blog?

When I think about what led me to start a fashion blog, my journey is a bit unique. I wasn't always the "it" girl who had all the best trendy clothes and accessories. Actually, what led me to blog is the desire to feel beautiful again, (and to inspire others to feel beautiful again), both times. Let me explain, and give a bit of a back story. I had a different blog altogether in my 20's. Before we had children, but while I was working as a personal trainer, I found myself with a bit of extra time on my hands and the need to feel creative and feminine. Most of my days were spent in sweaty gym clothes, running from client to client, training and stretching and encouraging. I loved it, but I definitely missed getting dressed up and looking girly and feeling beautiful. So, I started fashion blogging because once I found the fashion blogging world, I just knew I wanted to be a part of that! Beautiful images of real women dressed in their real clothes, influencing the fashion industry with their real pictures!? It's honestly the best! And I LOVE that idea!

I blogged for a few years on a different url altogether. (that blog no longer exists. I deleted it before I started this one.) I really loved it. I loved blogging, I loved fashion, I loved getting to explore my passion and getting to know you lovely ladies! But, as time went on and we had our children, I became bogged down in the Mom-duties. Getting no sleep all night with my first baby, then, being pregnant and having a toddler to chase around, then getting no sleep again, once our second was born. There just wasn't any time or motivation to blog during those early months and years of motherhood. When my son was about 6-months old, I felt like I had the energy and drive to blog again. As I told my friend, recently, I just felt like, "get me back on the internet!!". haha I didn't have any big goals in mind when I first started jessicabroyles.com. My only real goals were to share my outfits to inspire others again, and to be able to get dressed up and feel feminine and beautiful, myself. I'm so happy with where I am right now, and the direction the blog's heading. It brings me so much joy and purpose to write this blog!

That's my point in sharing this, today. You don't have the be the most beautiful person in the world, or have the most money. You don't have to be perfectly tanned or have the best of everything. There's room in the blogging world for everyone. You have something to offer the world, and if you have a true passion for something, just go for it! Starting a fashion blog or any kind of blog can be so rewarding and bring so much purpose into your life. I, personally, love visiting all kinds of blogs (and instagram accounts), and seeing what other people are passionate about, and what they share. The market is saturated, but it's not ever going to be too saturated to support one more. And, the more of us who join in, the more people who care to read and support each other!
I hope this inspires you to start a blog, if you're considering it, or to keep at it if your drive is waning.
Thanks so much for reading, and for following along!

Cute and Casual

This top quickly became one of my favorites, once it arrived. I wasn't expecting to love it so much, but yet, here I am. Absolutely loving it! It's the same story with these earrings. I saw them in the store a couple times before actually purchasing them, and I'm so glad I went ahead with my purchase now. They're adorable, and I just don't know what I'd do without them! haha And, the wedges I'm wearing... where to even begin? I resisted these wedges and this trend for so long, but I recently purchased these, and I'm not sure why in the world I resisted for so long! They're cute, comfortable, and they make your legs look amazing (especially when you're wearing a skirt). Now, I'm kind of obsessed, and looking for them in all the colors. Taupe? Pink? Count me in!

I've been doing a lot of blog work behind the scenes lately, partnering with affiliate programs, and also collaborating with different brands. I'm so excited to share some of that with you, piece by piece. I'm a naturally impetuous person, so working tirelessly behind the scenes, some days with not much to show for it, definitely has me itching to share! But I know that doing something well takes time and effort and planning, and I think my patience and work will pay off. And, even on the days that I don't get to immediately share my work with you, I still absolutely love what I'm getting to do here! So, I'm so excited about the here and now, and also the future of Jessicabroyles.com!
Thanks for being here with me, and for reading!

Oversized Bow Sleeves

Here's something you generally won't see much of in my wardrobe: prints. Aside from the occasional striped tee or gingham top, I'm usually much more of a solid color type of girl. I just naturally gravitate to solid colors. I definitely don't do bold florals like this dress, on the regular! But, I couldn't pass up the giant bows on the sleeves of this dress, no matter how different the print might be! haha
You may be able to tell that this dress is a little big on me. It does run a bit big, so if you're looking into ordering it, I'd size down, especially if you're between sizes.

Happy Wednesday! We're halfway through the week, and I'm already looking toward the weekend. The weather looks absolutely perfect, and I'm officially bringing out my wedges and sandals and skirts. Monday was a cooler day here, and I realized how much I actually enjoy the warmer weather. Don't get me wrong, it can get quite warm here in South Carolina, but it's usually pretty mild in April. I'll enjoy the warm temperatures until about July, and then start wishing for Fall! haha
Thank you so much for reading and for all of your sweet and thoughtful comments! You guys will never know how much love and joy your sweet words bring me! I hope you have a wonderful day!

Blue and White

Isn't this outfit so perfect and cute for Spring? I'm loving this little one-shoulder top! You probably could have seen it coming with my current affinity for this color blue and for ruffles! I've also been eyeing a pair of sunglasses like these from a few different brands lately, but I found these at Target the other day, and picked them up for under fifteen dollars! I generally like to spend a bit more on sunglasses, because I think protecting your eyes is super important, but I knew these were just a more short-lived, trendy option, and not my every-day driving sunglasses, so I went for the cheaper price-tag this time.

Guys, are you as obsessed with statement earrings as I am? I keep buying them, even though I hardly get to wear them because I have a baby and he'll try to give me a whole other level of ear piercing (my way of saying he'll rip the earring out of my ear). haha But they're just so darling, and they add so much to a simple outfit (like here!). I'm just so in love.
I hope you had a fantastic weekend!! Monday - let's do this!
Thanks so much for reading!

White Off-Shoulder Tops For Sunday Brunch

I mentioned in Monday's post that we did brunch with friends on Sunday. We hang out with Sean and Candace every weekend, but we haven't done Sunday brunch together, before. So that's what we opted for this past weekend. It was so nice, and a fun little change of pace. Candace also has a blog (she blogs about fashion, but also about their IVF journey, and her other interests along the way. You can see her blog here), so I asked if she wanted to snap our outfit pictures together before brunch. If you have a blog, I'm sure you can imagine the answer was "Yes! How fun!" Bloggers are always down for picture time. haha And, then, of course, we showed up wearing almost exactly the same outfit! Great minds.

Happy Friday! I hope you had a great week! I'm so ready for the weekend. I hope the weather is looking nice this weekend, where you are, and that you have fun plans to look forward to! Thanks so much for reading!
