When
I think about what led me to start a fashion blog, my journey is a bit
unique. I wasn't always the "it"
girl who had all the best trendy clothes and accessories. Actually,
what led me to blog is the desire to feel beautiful again, (and to inspire others to feel beautiful again), both times.
Let me explain, and give a bit of a back story. I had a different blog
altogether in my 20's. Before we had children, but while I was working
as a personal trainer, I found myself with a bit of extra time on my
hands and the need to feel creative and feminine. Most of my days were
spent in sweaty gym clothes, running from client to client, training and
stretching and encouraging. I loved it, but I definitely missed getting
dressed up and looking girly and feeling beautiful. So, I started
fashion blogging because once I found the fashion blogging world, I just
knew I wanted to be a part of that! Beautiful images of real women
dressed in their real clothes, influencing the fashion industry with
their real pictures!? It's honestly the best! And I LOVE that idea!
I
blogged for a few years on a different url altogether. (that blog no
longer exists. I deleted it before I started this one.) I really loved
it. I loved blogging, I loved fashion, I loved getting to explore my
passion and getting to know you lovely ladies! But, as time went on and
we had our children, I became bogged down in the Mom-duties. Getting no
sleep all night with my first baby, then, being pregnant and having a
toddler to chase around, then getting no sleep again, once our second
was born. There just wasn't any time or motivation to blog during those
early months and years of motherhood. When my son was about 6-months
old, I felt like I had the energy and drive to blog again. As I told my
friend, recently, I just felt like, "get me back on the internet!!".
haha I didn't have any big goals in mind when I first started
jessicabroyles.com. My only real goals were to share my outfits to inspire others again, and to
be able to get dressed up and feel feminine and beautiful, myself. I'm
so happy with where I am right now, and the direction the blog's
heading. It brings me so much joy and purpose to write this blog!
That's
my point in sharing this, today. You don't have the be the most
beautiful person in the world, or have the most money. You don't have to
be perfectly tanned or have the best of everything. There's room in the
blogging world for everyone. You have something to offer the world, and
if you have a true passion for something, just go for it! Starting a
fashion blog or any kind of blog can be so rewarding and bring so much
purpose into your life. I, personally, love visiting all kinds of blogs
(and instagram accounts), and seeing what other people are passionate
about, and what they share. The market is saturated, but it's not ever
going to be too saturated to support one more. And, the more of us who
join in, the more people who care to read and support each other!
I hope this inspires you to start a blog, if you're considering it, or to keep at it if your drive is waning.
Thanks so much for reading, and for following along!

DeleteI love hearing your reasons on why you started a blog and it is a great reminder to anyone that wants to blog. If you want to blog, you gotta do it because you love it and not because of money or other opportunities. I totally agree that you don't have to be a specific type of person to be able to blog. You just do you!

DeleteHello Jessica
ReplyDeleteI love knowing about your blog history. I also don't like to wear sports clothes I also think they are not feminine. I love the idea of having people around the world and know about their lives and what they like to wear. This skirt is very Spanish style. I love frills too !!
