Family Photos Summer 2018

I usually leave the family photos to the professionals, but my sister did such a great job capturing my kids a few months ago, that I thought maybe they were old enough to try photos with her, this time. I was wrong. haha! Shooting these was a disaster, but I do think we came away with more photos than I thought we would, as we were taking them. I just can't stress enough how difficult it is to get a reasonable picture with two young toddlers. I don't mean I want the kids looking at the camera and smiling, I'm talking about just being IN the frame for a second. The second picture in this post was pretty much the best "posed" picture we could get, and Luke is kind of leaning over. That's okay, though. I'll take it. I wanted to capture this stage in my children's lives, and this is what it looks like... running around like crazy. So the pictures actually tell a story, and that's really even better, right?
I hope you guys had a fantastic weekend! Thank you for stopping by, today!

Crop Top and Matching Skirt

I'm all about pairing neutral accessories with my fun little tops and skirts, lately! I kind of go through phases where I think it's boring to always fall on the neutrals, and phases where it's everything. So, right now it's everything... plan on seeing lots more of the neutrals. Maybe it's all that Fall outfit planning I've been doing? haha. But, I just recently got these nude pumps, and I'm super excited to be able to dress them up or down, and wear them through the Summer and Fall. Lots of fun options for these versatile heels.

I was bragging on my toddlers for being such great sleepers just the other day, and of course, last night, Luke totally made a liar out of me. *yawn*. So tired today! But he seems to be teething, so I'm sure he'll be through it soon, and we'll be back to getting more sleep. I know we operate on waves and phases, these days. Kids are anything but stagnant. And speaking of that... Lorelai is starting preschool in under a month! I'm completely overwhelmed with the idea that my baby girl is old enough to go to preschool, and to be honest, not okay with it at all. But, I know she will LOVE it. She loves organized activities and spending time with other kids, and I know preschool is going to be her favorite. So, this Momma heart might hurt a little with the growing pains for my babies, but I'm also excited to see all the learning and growing that takes place over the next year. Plus, as my friend pointed out, I get to buy cute things for her! Hello cute backpack with her initials embroidered, and an adorable stationary set, and back to school clothes. I'll find a way to make this fun for us both.
Thank you so much for stopping by today, and I hope you have a lovely weekend!

Robin's Egg Blue

I can't help but be drawn to the femininity of bows, and this dress was no exception. I don't have a ton of this color in my closet, because, it's kind of hard to find, but it's also one of my favorite colors.. this Robin's Egg blue color. I used Tiffany blue as my wedding accent color, and some shade of light blue-green has always been at the top of my favorite colors list. (Funny side-note, but I kind of blame my childhood best friend for this color love. She loved Robin's Egg Blue, and we were always starting clubs like "the dolphin club" or "the save the whales club", in which the main colors, were of course, shades of blue-green. My affinity for the color never left.)

I hope you guys had a great weekend! Ours was way less productive than the past few, but still so good. Sometimes, you just need those weekends where you're able to relax a bit. I didn't even take blog photos this weekend! (Don't worry, I have some prepared for the coming weeks, though! phew! haha). Now that all of our Summer plans are almost wrapped up, I'm so looking forward to football season starting, and cooler temperatures (broken record, I know). It's just that Summer is HOT here, you guys. I'm just needing a little cool air and a cup of tea.
I hope your Monday's off to a great start! Thank you for being here!!

Tiered

I got this top the other day, after debating it for a while, and I always really question my morals when I wait so long on something I know I want. haha! I'm totally kidding... but, yeah. I LOVE this top! It's so cute, and the unique design is both flattering and forgiving, on basically any figure. Plus, it's the perfect blue color and I have tons to go with it (even flowers)! So duh. Have you heard the word
"duh" in a while? Yeah, me neither. There you go. Sometimes, when I type up my blog posts, I'm just in a weird mood, and words like duh come out.

Oh man, you guys... Today was a long day. A good day, but a long day. My eyes are burning, you know? They just want to be closed. But, I'm not gonna lie... I've been loving the productivity of days like today, lately. After basically 3.5 years of either being pregnant or breastfeeding, I feel like I have a new lease on life, these days. I'm getting to sleep through the night, and my babies are just sweet little cuddle bugs (who sleep!). Did I mention I get to sleep? haha! It seriously has been life-changing, these past few months. Here's to sleeping toddlers, and fun clothes to celebrate with! I hope you're having a great day, and have had just a spectacular week so far! Thank you so much for being here! Love you guys!

On Throwing My First Baby Shower

I threw a baby shower for my Sister-in-law, this weekend. It was the first shower I've ever thrown, and I was really pleased with how it turned out. For the record, I made and decorated the cake and cupcakes, by hand. I've never done anything like that in my life, and I'm not sure what made me try my hand at it this time, but I'm glad I did. Even though I spent days baking and piping icing, it was totally worth it! I was so proud to say I made everything, myself, and I think it made the shower seem more personal and meaningful, knowing everything was homemade.

Here, I'm just sharing a few pictures I snapped a few weeks ago in the same dress I wore to the shower, and just a couple pictures from the shower. There were lots more people there, but I just wanted to share a few of me, my family, and the guest of honor, Rachael. This was a unique shower, in that Rachael wanted to invite women and their husbands and children. We had around 15 children running around, at one point, most of which were girls, so the unicorn cupcakes and cake, and pastel decorations were definitely a hit! Rachael is obviously having a little girl, and we're so excited to love on her little baby soon!
I hope you're all having a wonderful Monday, so far! Thanks for reading!
