Heart Pom-Pom Detail Sweater

My new favorite sweater for the season is this heart pom-pom sweater from Chicwish! Have you guys ordered from Chicwish, lately? Seems like I need everything on the site, lately! I'm obsessed with the color of this sweater, and it's such great quality, for the price. I'm also looking forward to pairing this with my pink suede skirt. A monochrome pink look would be so cute with this, don't you think? Also, I know that I said I was obsessed with hats, lately, but I'm not sure if I really conveyed the extent of my obsession. I feel the need to finish every outfit with a hat, right now. In fact, I just purchased two more! It's super cold out, so they're definitely practical, but also super cute, let's be honest. I also can't stop wearing over the knee boots, for the same exact reasons I just listed. I just love a functional and practical, yet adorable outfit!

Ross had this week off from work, so I definitely made use of a built-in baby-sitter and got a lot of my Christmas shopping done! I'm almost completely done with the shopping, so now I have a ton of things I need to gift wrap. I used to just do my gift wrapping right in the middle of my living room floor, by the tree, and spend hours getting each present just right. But, I'm not gonna lie to you guys, now that we have kids, it's definitely more of a "bag and tissue paper" style of wrapping for most things. haha Not that it's a bad way to package a gift, but I can definitely see now that it's just much easier, especially if you have tiny toddler hands that want to get into everything, and rip up wrapping paper as fast as you can get it cut. You learn a lot through having toddlers, like how you used to think Moms were lazy, and now you just KNOW what they're going through. It's not being lazy to use gift bags. It's their only option! haha I poke fun at motherhood, sometimes, but I hope you guys know it's just a little fun, and honestly, this season means so much more to me now that I have kids. I much prefer the tree that has a few less ornaments because Luke keeps taking them off and bringing them to me. I much prefer to use gift bags, instead of meticulously wrapping each present, if it means that time is instead spent with my children and husband, making precious memories together. The holidays have always been my favorite time of the year, and now, more than ever, they're the most special time with my family. Take a moment to pause this season, breathe in the scene around you. Enjoy your people. Enjoy the crazy as well as the calm.
Thanks for reading, you guys! Have a fantastic Thursday and a lovely weekend!

Tiered Tulle Skirt + Sweet Pink Beret

It's no secret that I love online shopping, and lately, I've been obsessed with everything from Chicwish! I've had my eye on this gorgeous tulle skirt for a while now, and now that I have it, I can't believe it took me so long. It was SO fun to wear this. I feel like skirts like this are just perfect for things like birthday sessions and engagement sessions... celebrations, where you want to look undeniably feminine and fun. Totally my style, and totally beautiful! I now have a handful of Tulle skirts, and partly blame Blair Eadie from Atlantic Pacific. She's been really rocking the tulle skirts, lately, and she looks so amazing in each of her tulle outfits. I also couldn't wait to pair my tulle skirt with this little pale pink beret I recently picked up, and I just love the whole vibe this is giving off. I'm sure you've noticed, but I'm a little bit obsessed with berets, lately!

I hope you guys had a fantastic holiday weekend! We definitely did! We ate way too much turkey and too many carbs, we spent tons of time with family, and saw our closest friends too. And, we bought a new car over the break! It was definitely an exciting time around here, and I gotta say, I love the new ride. haha. Lorelai was pretty shocked this morning, when I woke her up early for school. She had definitely gotten used to sleeping in, poor girl. But, luckily there is another upcoming break from school for Christmas, and I'm already counting down the days! Our Christmas tree has been up for weeks, so now I just need to do a little more decorating throughout the house, and we'll be ready! (Oh, plus shopping. Pretty much all our shopping still has to be done! Whoops. But, if I'm good for anything, it's shopping. I got this!) Hope you have a productive Monday!! Thanks so much for reading!

Burgundy Accents | Happiness Boutique

I was so excited when I found this dress that's a dupe for one that's much more expensive, recently. It's under $20, and it's super fun, especially with OTK boots and a scarf. A poncho, cape, or cardigan would also be super cute with this, as would booties, or just knee-high boots! And, I loved pairing it with burgundy accessories, like this cute little handbag and my burgundy statement earrings from Happiness Boutique. They're so fun, and perfect for the Holidays!
For a limited time, Happiness Boutique is giving my readers a 10% discount! Just use the code jessicabroyles at checkout! Happy Shopping!

Speaking of the Holidays, are you guys doing your holiday shopping now, or are you waiting? We'll probably use Black Friday and Cyber Monday to do some of our shopping, but some things we'll wait on. I used to like getting out into the craziness of Black Friday shopping, but now that we have two toddlers, shopping online has been much more my speed. It's just much easier to shop from the comfort of your living room, while the kids play and take the ornaments off the Christmas tree. haha! Whichever way you decide to shop, I hope you find a lot of great deals on the things you're wanting!
I hope you guys had a lovely Thanksgiving, if you celebrated! Happy Black Friday, everyone!

Pom Beret + Tweed Skirt

Lately, I've been into watching fashion channels on YouTube. It probably comes as no surprise to anyone that I really enjoy watching "Freddy My Love". Anyway, she recently got a little beret with a pom on it, similar to this one, and I immediately went out and got one. It just looked so adorable and sweet on her, and it was something I hadn't even considered before. Plus, she said it reminded her of a character from Gossip Girl, which means I was immediately sold. As we were taking these pictures, a lady walked by and commented how "cute" I looked, so I think the pom beret did exactly what I hoped it'd do. haha I also can't fail to mention this cute tweed skirt that I got recently for such a great price! I can see this being a staple in my wardrobe throughout Fall and Winter, and getting a lot of use out of it with a few pair of over-the-knee boots. I just love the way this whole look came together, and I'm excited to find other ways to style this skirt too.

It's been quite the eventful week, at our house. I won't go into specifics, because it's a lot, and it's kind of irrelevant to the blog, but we're dealing with a lot of unexpected things, right now, and I've been pretty busy, the past week. Hopefully, we can sort of figure everything out and be somewhat back to normal in the next week or so. I'm here for the challenges and curve-balls of life, though. They're always going to happen, and changes just mean you're living your life. My husband recently lost a dear friend suddenly and tragically, and, aside from the grief and sadness, it has also helped us to put these things we're dealing with into perspective. Especially during the holidays, I'm just grateful and thankful for the people in my life. I feel like I've been a broken record about that, lately, so maybe that's a little bit of an explanation as to why. Enjoy your life, and don't take one second with your loved ones for granted. Look up from your phone. Instagram doesn't matter that much. Reddit will be there, later. Pinterest can wait. Enjoy your friends and family, this holiday season.
I love you guys, and thank you so much for being so amazing, and kind, and thoughtful, always!

Cozy Sweater and Cute Beanie | Colors of Fall

This outfit is a little different for me, on the blog, but as I've probably shared before, this is the type of thing I actually wear a lot, especially this time of year. Flats are pretty essential for chasing kids, and these days, I've definitely become a fan of my outfits being functional. There's no reason a functional outfit can't also be cute! That's why in the Fall and Winter, I have several pairs of over-the-knee flat boots that I often wear. And, by often, I mean like every day. I was in the dentist's chair this afternoon, wearing my black pair. haha (Don't worry, just a cleaning! All is good.) I seriously love how over-the-knee boots can be dressed up or down, and go with almost everything I want to wear in the cooler months. I was a little concerned that I might look silly in OTK boots, before getting my first pair, but I've since gotten over those fears (I wrote a whole blog post on that!), and I'm super glad I tried them. I have way too many pairs now, and I have another on my wish-list!

How gorgeous is this fall foliage!? I couldn't wait to take these pictures last weekend with this gorgeous background. This is right in front of our house, and our whole yard, and really the whole neighborhood, looks so gorgeous with yellow and red hues. So Autumnal, so perfect! I love drinking my tea in the morning, and staring out our kitchen windows at all the lovely trees in our back yard. Just another one of those things I'm grateful for, this season! Speaking of... I cannot believe Thanksgiving is one week away! Holy cow! This year has flown by entirely too fast, and I'm in disbelief that we're nearing its end. It's been a really good one, friends. A challenging one. One that's seen a lot of growth, by me, and by our entire family. But a year full of wonderful memories and experiences that will last a lifetime. I can't wait to make more of those memories throughout the holidays, and spend extra time with these three treasures I get to call my family.
I hope you have a wonderful Thursday, and do something today that makes you smile!
Thanks for reading!

Fall Family Photos 2018 + The Season of Thankfulness

We've been taking our family photos in November for a few years now. Maybe one day I'll do a "watch our family grow" post; that would be fun! I love seeing how our family has grown in numbers, but also in love, each year. When we were newly weds, we had the world at our feet... everything to look forward to, and endless possibilities (and sleep!). We had big hopes and dreams for our family, and I'm so happy to say that where we are today has surpassed anything I could have ever imagined. A beautiful home with my handsome husband (who grew his hair out for me, which was honestly one of my biggest dreams! haha) A sweet and caring daughter and the cutest chubby-cheeked son. I get to blog, which is one of my biggest passions. I'm eternally grateful and thankful for these blessings in my life. As we approach Thanksgiving, I can't fail to mention my appreciation for all that we have.

I've been fashion blogging again for a little over a year now, and the sentiment I often come across on social media is one of entitlement and self-service. It saddens me that this is where a lot of bloggers are, because I honestly do wish everyone could be just as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside. I see these beautiful instagram feeds with the perfect colors, flowers, shoes, and jewelry, only to discover that the person behind that feed is greedy, manipulative, and entitled. It really takes away from the magic of what this can be. I don't know where those feelings come from, but I have a feeling it's not from a place of gratitude. I would encourage everyone, not only during this season, but always, to really take a look around at what you have. Be thankful. Be grateful. Tell the people in your life you love them, and you value their love and company. Spread kindness and positivity and watch your life change for the better.
Happy Holidays, my loves! I'm also so very thankful for you, this holiday season!

I took a tiny break from all-pink, but don't worry! I hope you guys have had a great week, so far! We're recovering from a cold, and I finally feel a little more like myself again, so I'm super excited about that. Plus, Thanksgiving is just right around the corner, so we're starting to prepare for all the upcoming holiday festivities! Everyone seems to already have their Christmas decor up, so I might jump right in on that soon. I hope you have fun plans for the weekend, and thank you so much for reading!
P.S. We did get our family pictures back, and they turned out pretty good, given the circumstances (of children acting crazy). haha  I'll share them soon!
