Feminine Hues

You guys know I had the get this scarf, when i saw it. I couldn't resist the pretty pastel hues, and I'm just thrilled with how feminine and soft this outfit looks, altogether. I have another little pink beanie with a bow, similar to this (that one also came with matching gloves, and is adorable, too!), and honestly, I'm not sure what made me think I needed this one as well, but I just really love it! A girl can't have too many beanies, or too many bows, you know? haha Plus, I also got this one for Candace, so you know we had to have matching ones, in case we need to be obnoxiously twinning, like we often do!

Thank you guys all so much for the congratulations to Candace! I'm visiting her and her sweet baby this weekend, and will be sure to pass on the well wishes! We also have a wedding shower that we're attending this weekend, so that should be fun! It's a weekend full of all the things that I love - just celebrating life and family. Then, my kids birthdays are also coming up (their birthdays are within a week of each other), as I've mentioned, but I honestly didn't realize just how soon they were approaching. I haven't decided if we're going to do a party, or just get them a little gift and celebrate at home (which is what we usually do), but either way, I should probably start the plans for that! I'll decorate a little, either way, and I'll try to snap a few cute pictures of them on their birthdays!
I hope you guys are having a fantastic week so far, and thanks for reading!

Red and White For Valentine's Day

I'm obsessed with all the red in this pretty Valentine's Look. I styled this coat a few weeks ago on the blog (you can see that post here). In that post, I styled it with all-white, but I also coudn't wait to see this pretty white fur against a stark color, like red. I honestly love it so much, and I'm not sure which look I prefer! Don't make me choose between outfits - they're all my favorites! haha This look is so perfectly sweet and elegant for Valentine's day, especially if you have a night on the town planned with your hunny. I had to add in the roses so this look would scream Valentine's even more. Are you drinking a shot each time I say the word "Valentine's"? I hope so! hahaha

Guys! My friend Candace had her baby last week, and she's just beautiful and perfect! They're home now, and recovering, and I cannot wait to meet that sweet little bundle. Now that I've had two children, thinking about newborns instantly brings me back to those early moments and days with my babies. They smell so delicious, and they move in such cute little ways. They're seriously little angels sent from heaven, and I know I'm going to be transported back in time for a moment, when I get to snuggle Candace's daughter. I also can't wait to talk with Candace for more than a few minutes here and there, and get to hear all the details of everything! I've missed her, since they went in to deliver! haha My weekend wasn't as exciting as having a baby, but it sure was a sweet and quiet one, here at home with my little family! It was honestly one of the best weekends I've had in a while, and I'm sad to see it go! I hope you had a lovely weekend, yourself, and thank you so so much for stopping by!

Sequins and Feathers

If I'm being true to myself, this is the kind of outfit I'd want to be wearing, 100% of the time. Feathers, sequins, and heels aren't necessarily practical for preschool drop off and taking care of my toddlers. haha! But, this look would be so cute for a Valentine's Day date, and that's what I was thinking, when I put this fun little look together! I'm thinking of doing a compilation of Valentine's Day outfit ideas, since it's my favorite color scheme, pinks and reds! I just have so many ideas for outfits, and there are so many different directions you can go with it, that I know I'll need more than one post! Okay, it's decided then! haha Thanks for the help, guys.

I love Valentine's Day, you guys, and I already can't wait! It's one of my favorite holidays, with all the pink and hearts! I mean, I know... that's really no surprise! Looking through the cute little decor at Target the other day was giving me all kinds of warm and fuzzy feelings about this sweet little holiday! I'll need to get Lorelai some little Valentine's Day cards to pass out to her classmates. Her teachers all say she has like 5 boyfriends! I love it! And, it doesn't hurt that both my kids were born around Valentine's Day. God gave me three Valentine's to celebrate, and I'm so grateful for all three of my people. I hope you guys are having a great Thursday! I'm in a great mood, and I'm off to have a wonderful and exciting day. Thanks for reading!

Mommy + Me Outfits | Faux Fur Vests and Boots

I feel like I post a picture with my kids that looks staged and posed, pretty often, for how crazy they actually act while we try to take pictures. I mean, they're actually some kind of circus act while there's a camera in front of them. I honestly don't know what made me think doing a "Mommy and me" look would be a good idea, but I could not resist, once Lorelai and I had these matching vests! My vest is from Chicwish, and I'm obsessed! Lorelai was not into taking these pictures, but I somehow managed to snag a few with her in the frame, so it is what it is! haha And, I love them anyway! Because I love this girl, and she's the cutest, even if our pictures are crooked and blurry!

I've never talked about this publicly, because I do try to keep my kids lives pretty private on the internet, but Lorelai had a speech delay for much of her life, and is just now starting to talk in sentences. (I feel like I can share it now, because I feel confident that with the intervention she's received she'll be completely "caught-up" to her peers, soon.) It's been one of the hardest challenges on my life, to have a child with a disability. You might think that a language delay doesn't sound like that big of a deal, but after dealing with a child who can't communicate with you through speech, it's been quite a rough road. I guess I'm just saying that I'm so grateful for early intervention within a school setting, I'm grateful for her teachers and her speech therapists, and I'm grateful to God that she's starting to talk more and more, and it looks like she will overcome her delay. And, also, if you have a child with special needs, I can relate. This is hard, and it's not for the faint of heart! You will get through, and we can both smile and be proud of the little humans our kids turn out to be, one day! Thanks for letting me share, sometimes, guys. I feel like sometimes all you see is the highlight reel, and I definitely try to keep it real around here.
Thanks so much for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful Monday!

Winter Whites

Guys, how beautiful is this fur-detail coat from Chicwish? I'm loving the cut and color! The texture that the fur brings to this outfit is just like icing on the cake! Plus, I'm obsessed with this creamy-white color for winter, right now; It's the perfect way to do "winter white", in my opinion! Do you guys like to wear white and pastels in the winter? Obviously, I'm down, but I know some people still aren't quite on board. I'm also still crushing on these heels, and will probably love them forever! Be ready to see them a LOT!

I just got back from a visit with my chiropractor, for the first time since this Summer, and I feel so much better! I had been putting off going, because I decided my life was too busy, but I was honestly in pain, and experiencing a lot of other crazy symptoms, and I knew it was time to go in for an adjustment. I'm so glad I finally just made the time to go, and I'm planning to make it a priority again, this year, and not "get to busy" to take care of myself. If you've never been to a chiropractor, might I suggest a "straight" chiropractor to you, today. They're honestly the best, and I think they are beneficial to everyone's health. I've been seeing mine for 5 years now, and it's been incredible to see the improvements to my health! Now, I'm even more excited to continue in this path of a healthy lifestyle and to see what other goals I come up with for myself, this year!
I hope you guys are having a fantastic week so far, and thank you so much for being here!

Plaid Poncho

When I first saw this poncho at Chicwish, I couldn't resist. It was on my wish-list for less than a week, before I had to have it. I'm obsessed with wearing ponchos like this, right now! They're so easy to throw on every morning, when a coat sounds restrictive and uncomfortable. Plus, I pair it with over-the-knee boots, and suddenly look so much more put-together than I really am! haha A definite win! Ponchos and capes always give me the most feminine feel, when I'm wearing them, so of course, I can't get enough! Expect to see lots more from me in the future! In fact, I have a few up my sleeve already, so definitely check back often if you love them too!

You guys might have seen that I got my hair highlighted on my Insta-stories. It's the first time my hair has been chemically treated in any way in quite a few years, but I love it! I was just a little bored, and I still wanted long hair, so changing the color was kind of my only option! haha Plus, I feel like I'm at a point in my life where I can kind of keep up with the up-keep that colored hair takes. I never had time to deal with it before! This will force me to keep up with my hair-cuts too, which are usually something I just put off until my hair is way too long. Also, this weekend, I had my first blogger meet-up with Michelle from Peaches to Palmettos, and Laura from Illuminate Blog. It was SO fun, and we plan to meet-up regularly from here on! I shared some behind-the-scenes from yesterday on my stories, and I'll share pictures from it on my Instagram, soon! I'm very excited about our collaborations! I hope you guys are having a fantastic Monday! Thanks so much for reading!

Updates I'm Making to my Wardrobe this Winter

Lately, I haven't done as much shopping for myself (and my wardrobe) as I have for my kids. It's not that I don't buy myself anything (to be sure! You can ask my husband! haha), but I've been more selective in the types of things I want to purchase for myself, so far, in 2019. I've seen so many trends come and go throughout blogging, and I want to start to build a wardrobe that has more staple items that I'll use for the long-haul, and less trendy items. Don't worry, the trends will still have their place! I'm all for a trend, especially if I just honestly love the look of it.

The types of things I have been purchasing lately are: classic handbags, beautiful heels, over-the-knee boots, feminine hats, and cashmere scarves, and gloves. Of course, for me, these things will mostly be in the pastel and nude color-scheme, but the nice thing about these types of purchases, is they're pretty timeless and sophisticated, no matter what colors you choose. It recently got so cold, where we live, so I'm excited to put these winter wardobe essentials to use a little more, and remix items in my wardrobe with my new purchases. I hope you're having the most amazing week so far! Ours has been a pretty good start, getting back into the swing of things. I have some exciting things happening for the blog, and I'm ready to take you guys along for the ride! Have a lovely weekend, and thank you so much for reading!

Burgundy Lace Dress

This dress has quickly become one of my favorites. I wore it over the holidays, but it's going to definitely work into the new year, and would be such a great Valentine's Dress, too! I love how much lace detail there is - that's always one of my favorite looks for a dress. Chicwish always does such a fantastic job of having high-quality dresses with beautiful lace detail. Plus, the color is just so perfect for so many occasions! I just feel so feminine and beautiful, every time I wear this one, and I seriously can't say enough about the quality of every piece I've ever received from Chicwish.

Lorelai went back to preschool this week, and I'm kind of sad about having to drag us all out into the cold early in the mornings, but also kind of happy about the break it gives me, only having one toddler, for a few hours a day. haha It's always bitter-sweet, to me, getting back into the routine of everything after the holidays. My body craves the routine and the clean-up I usually give to my diet, but I do miss the time with my kids that I had, and definitely the time with my husband, and extra help that he provides for caring for the kids! But, I'm excited to start this year off right, and to get into a good routine, and, like I said, clean up my diet. I mentioned on Instagram recently that I want this year to be more intentional, and I'm ready to put that into motion. The past few years were full of sleepless nights and breast-feeding, and just round the clock care for newborns and toddlers. Now that Lorelai is a little older, and Luke is approaching two, I feel like 2019 is going to be the perfect year to enjoy the kids, while taking better care of myself. I hope you're excited for 2019, too, and if you're back to your normal routine after a holiday break, I'm sending lots of positive vibes that today goes well, and you have a wonderful and productive first week back!
Thanks for reading - I just love you guys!
